DEMONSTRATION IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE MERAUKE 43 OUTSIDE DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION (DIMIA) CASSELDEN PLACE cnr LONSDALE AND SPRING ST, MELBOURNE TUESDAY JANUARY 24TH 2006 12PM As the Indonesian military start killing the family members of the West Papuan refugees who landed in Cape York last week, we need to keep the pressure on DIMIA and the Australian government to let the refugees stay, and to Stand up for West Papua. Demand that DIMIA release the Merauke 43 immediately into commnity care on the Australian mainland with full rights. Demand that the Australian government dissallow access by the Indonesian government agents of Genocide to the Refugees. Maintain the international pressure and attention on the situation in West Papua. It was the actions of ordinary people in Australia that helped East Timor win its Independence from Indonesian military violence. The power and the choice to end the killing lie in your hands. Make a difference. Stand up to the real terrorists of our region.
